Cisco acquired Linksys himself in 2003 with a high enough value, amounting to 500 million dollars. At that time, Cisco Linksys purchased in order to enter the market home computer network. But after 10 years, Cisco changed his mind and instead turned to get out of the market.
Previously, Cisco has also closed some of his consumer products. One of them is the Flip video recorder portable has discontinued, in April 2011.
The company network is likely out of luck in doing business in the realm of consumer products such as Linksys. But in the corporate realm, Cisco still prevails with the master IP routing market.
