Later in February 2013, Twitter will change by reducing the amount of character tweet. This change only applies to the tweet-tweet containing a link / URL.
Tweet-tweet containing a link / URL "http beginning" will be reduced by as much as two characters, so if the previous 120 characters to 118 characters. As for the tweet containing a secure link "that begins https", will be reduced to 117 characters from the previous 119.
Not explained the reason why the reduction was held on the character tweet. Parties twitter simply stating that they want to extend the number of characters shortening the link to two more characters.
"We will add t.co link shortening the maximum length of 20 characters to 22 characters for the URL non-htpps, and 21 to 23 characters for the URL https," wrote Jason Costa via the website Twitter Dev.
T.co link shortener on Twitter generally amounted to 20 characters, t.co link shortener that is specifically used to shorten the link / whatever links shared on Twitter.
Announcement of change in the reduction of the number of characters is intended for developers, so they can update their application, before Twitter make this change.
